Mexico Creeking Clinic - Instructors

Leland and Andria have been teaching spring creek boating clinics in the Southeast and Mid Atlantic areas since 2005. Their proven system of instruction has helped over 130 paddlers improve thier game and progress as creekers.

Leland has a long history of teaching kayaking - as director of a summer camp paddling program for 7 years, and UNC-Asheville paddling club founder and instructor, as well as doing private intruction. He has also taught creeking at the annual whitewater symposium. An avid creeker in the Southeast since the early '90s, Leland has spent about 8 seasons traveling and creek boating all over North America. He is a member of Team Pyranha and an athlete ambassador for American Whitewater.

Andria comes from a raft guiding background, having spent most of her time on the Chattooga's Section IV. She has also guided the Ocoee, Pigeon, Gauley, and Arkansas rivers; it has been her business to get people safely down rivers for over a decade. An accomplished creek boater, member of Team Pyranha, and women's winner of the 2006 Green River Narrows Race, she is also a certified Wilderness First Responder. When not on the river, Andria studies and teaches yoga - and her Yoga for Paddlers DVD is a popular training tool for kayakers of all kinds.
